Every six month, SOS Medica Mongolia UB International Clinic conducts a disaster drill exercise whereby various disaster scenarios are simulated. This is performed in order to prepare our staff to be prepared in the event SOS Medica Mongolia is faced with a mass casualty or disaster situation.
Our most recent disaster drill exercise this year involved the medical management of patients presenting with traumatic injuries. Our medical staff were divided into three teams and each member was assessed on their ability to perform an initial primary survey involving the resuscitation of a patient. This was followed by a secondary survey involving the management of a trauma patient’s condition. The exercise was most beneficial to all our medical staff as evident in the review that followed.
